that you’d like to share.
About Eileen Macam-Manalo, NP-C:
Eileen is an accomplished and experienced dermatologist from the Philippines. She graduated with a Medical Degree at UERMMMC in 1994. She then took after her mother, Monina Macam, MD, who is well established and respected in Philippine Dermatology. Eileen went to residency training in Dermatology at East Avenue Medical Center, a government institution, catering to the less privileged and indigent community in Quezon City and neighboring cities. She then became part of the teaching staff, training dermatology residents who came from different provinces. The mission of their program was to have a dermatologist in every city in the Philippines to address skin diseases in rural and far-flung communities. She also was part of the Dermatology residency accreditation committee and Laser committee of the Philippine Society of Cutaneous Medicine (now merged with Philippine Dermatology Society). Eileen’s
expertise is in Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery & Lasers.
Eileen left a busy and rewarding practice when she and the children migrated to the US in 2004 to join her husband, Titus Manalo, MD., who at that time, was applying for a medical residency program. She had the foresight of obtaining a degree in nursing prior to the move. A decision that she thought would enable her to pursue her passion after the children are settled and accustomed to their new environment. After all, she is first and foremost a dedicated wife and mother. She juggled her time between her family and regular participation in continuing medical education for personal advancement. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and is board certified. Eileen pursued her passion and expertise in skincare and established Total Derm Aesthetic Center in Roseville California (since 2011).
“I believe in women empowerment, that every Filipina migrating to another country whether to help support the family back home or migrate with their family to find a better life has sacrificed a lot. Every Filipina serves not only the light but the strength to whom each family member holds on. I support breast cancer awareness 1and help women especially Filipino women to feel good about themselves, boost their confidence to be able to carry on to face life’s struggles and challenges.” - Eileen

2. Now about your husband, we’d love to know a bit more about him, too. Also his role in your business.
Titus Manalo, MD is a board-certified Medical internist, an achiver, who would always strive to be the best at what he aims for. Titus has garnered multiple honors and awards during the course of his medical career both in the Philippines and in the United States, including the 2002 Philippine College of Physicians “Young Investigator awards” he won for St. Luke’s Medical Center. He completed his Internal medicine residency program at Capital Health System in Trenton, New Jersey with the title of Outstanding Performance in all three years of training. Titus graduated with a degree of Doctor of Medicine from Far Eastern University, Manila after which he took an Internal Medicine residency at St. Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines.
Prior to his Medical career, Titus was a ramp and commercial model. He was introduced to Philippine showbusiness but has decided to forego it and pursue his dream of becoming a physician.

4. You and your husband are both respected medical professionals. Do share with us what the most rewarding moments as doctors and passionate entrepreneurs are.
As a medical professional, it is always rewarding when one’s dedication perseverance, and hard work are gratefully acknowledged. That is fulfillment. Being able to put on a precious smile or even shed a tear from someone who used to be embarrassed by the way they see themselves and how they think others perceive them.
5. As far as the challenges, what are the things you’ve encountered both as doctors and businesspersons, and how you’ve been able to overcome them.
It has always been a challenge on setting up realistic goals for clients. It is best to give a constant mreminder that not every treatment option is for everyone. Hence, Communication is imperative in a successful Provider- client relationship.

6. As far as your advice to those starting out, to those still struggling and unsure of their careers, what words of wisdom would you give them?
Set your goals, follow your path. I believe that education and training are major key factors. Learning is always constant. One has to have the passion and dedication to help others achieve their goals not only in skincare but in gaining self-esteem, self-confidence for those who need it most.
7. And to yourself? What words of wisdom do you live by; something that you try to reflect in your small and big life decisions?
Life is full of complexities. The journey we go through, each hiccup, obstacle and stumbling block make us stronger and strive harder to be better. Putting God in the center of one’s life serves as the guiding light to one’s contentment.
8. Being highly successful, I am certain that you’d still want to do more. What are the things you’d want to achieve in the next few years, both in terms of your profession, or maybe a personal passion, things in your bucket list that you’d love to tick off soon? Or your way of making a mark in this world?
It has always been my goal to be the best at what I am passionate about. I want to see myself continue to help educate people especially the younger generations on how to take care of themselves not only with their skin but that clean, healthy life style- with proper nutrition, enough sleep, and staying away from smoking and alcohol will help develop healthy skin.
9. Now about family, how do you balance it all? As a successful doctor, businesswoman, wife, and mother, how do you make it all work?
Family is always the priority. I have set aside my career while my children were young. As the year went by, I slowly start focusing on my career yet maintaining a healthy balance with family life.
10. Some fun stuff now, what is a typical day for you?
I wake up at sound 7:00 am on a weekday. I prepare breakfast for the girls. I leave for the office. I usually come home around 5 pm. I then prepare for dinner. After taking care of the family, I rewind by watching you tube.
11. More fun stuff – tell us the 3 things you cannot live without and why? I can’t live with out:
Tinted Sunscreen: It also serves as my foundation. Lipstick & matte gloss. Yes even during the pandemic, with masks My water bottle. Hydration is key to maintaining healthy skin.
12. And... more fun stuff! What are the top 3 things we’d always find in your purse; things you won’t leave home without?
Cellphone
wallet
keys
13. Fun – but important stuff now – not as a skin doctor but as a friend – what is your top health and beauty secret?
SUNSCREEN. One important anti-aging secret. With the thinning ozone layer, the harsh UV radiation is even more dangerous than ever. There is no permanent protection from the sun when one is outside for a long period - thus reapplying sunscreen every two hours is vital.
14. Lastly, how can our readers get in touch with you, learn more about your products, services, schedule consultation, etc.?
